Urszula Markowska-Kaczmar is an associate professor of the Wroclaw University of Science and Technology, at the Computational Intelligence Department. She has graduated and received a Ph.D. from the Faculty of Electronics at the Wroclaw University of Technology. In 2008 she received DSc (habilitation) at the System Research Institute Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw. In 1999-2001, she was deputy dean of the Faculty of Computer Science and Management at the Wroclaw University of Science and Technology. She supervises the student scientific group medical.ml. Her research interests include Computational Intelligence Methods. Since the very beginning she performed research in Neural Networks and knowledge extraction from these models. Now she focuses on deep neural networks and their applications. She is an author of more than 130 papers related to neural networks, deep network applications and artificial life. She is a member of international committees and a reviewer in prestigious international journals focused on machine learning, pattern recognition and neural networks.
