OMINO - Overcoming Multilevel INformation Overload
The OMINO (Overcoming Multilevel INformation Overload) project addresses the challenges of multilevel information overload (IOL), where the abundance of data overwhelms individuals and systems. Its primary goals are to measure, model, and mitigate IOL across various domains, fostering interdisciplinary research and practical solutions. The project combines expertise from neuroscience, social sciences, journalism, computing, and complexity science to develop innovative tools and strategies for understanding and combating IOL.
Key objectives include:
- Developing methods to measure and counteract multilevel IOL.
- Facilitating knowledge exchange between global academic institutions (UK, U.S., China, Singapore, Australia, Japan).
- Bridging academia and industry by addressing real-world challenges in collaboration with media organizations and tech companies.
OMINO is a 4-year initiative (2023–2026) funded through the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions program with a budget of €1.297 million. It involves 7 Beneficiaries and 15 Associated Partners, enabling researcher exchanges, collaboration, and practical applications of the project’s findings in both academic and commercial contexts. The interdisciplinary nature of the project fosters long-term international partnerships, advancing careers and creating a foundation for continued research and innovation in IOL management. Project is co-financed by the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education.
