The modern tax world is complex and dynamic. Changing regulations, inconsistent interpretations, and judicial rulings in tax matters create challenges for both entrepreneurs and tax advisors, who must stay up-to-date with current legal frameworks and the positions of tax authorities and courts. Manually searching for tax interpretations and rulings in available databases or on websites is time-consuming and often inefficient. Finding the right interpretation or ruling that precisely matches a specific factual situation can take hours, if not days.
Moreover, preparing a tax interpretation request for an individual case is a process that requires not only deep knowledge of tax law but also the ability to accurately describe the factual situation, the taxpayer’s position, and formulate relevant questions. Errors in this process can lead to receiving an inappropriate interpretation. In light of these challenges, there is an urgent need to streamline the process of searching for tax interpretations and rulings, as well as preparing interpretation requests.
The AITAX project aims to develop a system that enables efficient definition of factual circumstances, searching for similar cases, summarizing the positions of tax authorities and courts, and generating fragments of interpretation requests, thereby improving the efficiency of tax advisors, accounting offices, and entrepreneurs. To achieve this, the project will create a repository for storing and semantically indexing tax documents, algorithms for representing tax cases in an embedding space, a mechanism for searching similar cases based on semantic embeddings, a conversational agent (chatbot) for interactive definition of factual circumstances, a method for summarizing collections of interpretations and court rulings, and a generator for drafting descriptions for tax interpretation requests.
