Three pillars
01
Research
Basic and applied AI research, interdisciplinary work, publishing in leading venues and funding from national and European programmes.
- ERC, Horizon Europe, NCN, NCBR and FNP proposals
- Joint teams with other faculties and universities
- Open publications, code and data
02
Implementation & partnerships
Work with companies and the public sector, from pilots to multi-year programmes. We agree the scope, access to infrastructure and data, and the required documents individually.
- Pilot or proof of concept — schedule agreed individually
- Research, service and education agreements
- Knowledge and technology transfer
03
Education & outreach
Staff development, scientific, educational and business events, sharing research results and individually agreed support for student research groups.
- Training and workshops for companies and institutions
- Seminars, hackathons, open days
- Discussing support options for student research groups
Mission
Artificial intelligence is now a basic tool of modern science. The Centre exists so that researchers, partners and students meet around real problems, and research results reach the economy and society faster.
What we work on
Foundation models
Large language and multimodal models, their adaptation, evaluation and efficient deployment.
ML in life sciences
Machine learning in medicine, biology and chemistry, from omics data to imaging.
AI & society
The impact of AI on work, education and public debate; responsible and lawful applications.
Data science
Data analysis and engineering, predictive and decision models for industry and administration.
HPC
Large-scale computing, model training and serving on GPU clusters.
AI safety
Reliability, adversarial robustness, privacy and auditing of AI systems.
